Aganang budgets for a better life for all. Aganang Municipality is on high gear this financial year in ensuring equitable service delivery for a better life for all. This comes after the Council of Aganang Municipality has approved a budget of R52.4m for this financial year during a council meeting on 29 May 2007. The budget was approved on 31 May simultaneously with the adoption of the 2007/2008 Integrated Development Plan (IDP). According to the Council, the budget will enable the Municipality to continue firing on all cylinders in ensuring that the people of Aganang enjoy the fruits of democracy – basic services for all! The adoption and approval of both the budget and the IDP followed after the Municipality put a shoulder to the wheel by consulting and engaging all affected and interested parties to seek their robust inputs from November 2006 to May 2007 – thus living up to the motto ‘Mmogo Re Tla Kgona’. According to the IDP prescripts, the operational budget should reflect incremental improvement to existing operations. If further envisages that the strategic budget should identify what new operations are required; what new capabilities must be created; what new products and services must be launched; what priorities, applications and regions must be served and what new alliances and joint ventures must be established.
In a move set to empower youth economically, the Aganang Youth Council has made an unwavering call to all entrepreneurial youth to register in the municipal youth database.
